Formally published in a peer-reviewed Chemical Physics journal, today:
“Active Thermitic Material Discovered in Dust from the 9/11 World Trade Center Catastrophe” by Niels H. Harrit, Jeffrey Farrer, Steven E. Jones, Kevin R. Ryan, Frank M. Legge, Daniel Farnsworth, Gregg Roberts, James R. Gourley and Bradley R. Larsen
The paper ends with this sentence: “Based on these observations, we conclude that the red layer of the red/gray chips we have discovered in the WTC dust is active, unreacted thermitic material, incorporating nanotechnology, and is a highly energetic pyrotechnic or explosive material.”
In short, the paper explodes the official story that “no evidence” exists for explosive/pyrotechnic materials in the WTC buildings.
What is high-tech explosive/pyrotechnic material in large quantities doing in the WTC dust? Who made tons of this stuff and why? Why have government investigators refused to look for explosive residues in the WTC aftermath?
These are central questions raised by this scientific study.
The peer-review on this paper was grueling, with pages of comments by referees. The tough questions the reviewers raised led to months of further experiments. These studies added much to the paper, including observation and photographs of iron-aluminum rich spheres produced as the material is ignited in a Differential Scanning Calorimeter (see Figures 20, 25 and 26).
The nine authors undertook an in-depth study of unusual red-gray chips found in the dust generated during the destruction of the World Trade Center on 9/11/2001. The article states: “The iron oxide and aluminum are intimately mixed in the red material. When ignited in a DSC device the chips exhibit large but narrow exotherms occurring at approximately 430 ˚C, far below the normal ignition temperature for conventional thermite. Numerous iron-rich spheres are clearly observed in the residue following the ignition of these peculiar red/gray chips. The red portion of these chips is found to be an unreacted thermitic material and highly energetic.” The images and data plots deserve careful attention.

Among more than 600 architects and engineers who have signed our petition at ae911truth.org, one doesn’t get much closer to the inner workings of the WTC than Richard Humenn, our Petitioner of the Month for April. Humenn was the Senior Project Engineer-Electrical who worked on the construction of the WTC from the bidding period to several decades afterwards.
Humenn earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute in 1954. Shortly after graduating, he spent three years as a first lieutenant and electrical engineer in the US Army, building power plants in South Korea during the Korean war. Upon his return in the late 1950s, he went to work for Joseph Loring, whose firm would eventually win the electrical contract for the construction of the WTC. He began his work on the WTC project around 1963 and continued to be involved until his retirement in 1997.
Last year, AE911Truth arranged an interview with Humenn to get further insight. In that discussion, Humenn admits the building collapses didn’t look right. Recalling the robust cage structure of the core columns, exterior columns and hefty girders, he said, “I couldn’t visualize the core columns coming down with the floors.” He was also surprised that the collapse initiation was at the top instead of the point of impact. After watching the presentation by Richard Gage, Humenn says, “I was compelled to want to see some further investigation.”

“THE 21st CENTURY BEHAVIOR OF STEVEN E. JONES
Suddenly, in late 2005, a self-professed “good friend” of Jim Hoffman’s appeared on the 9/11 scene (and even in the mainstream media). He was a PhD physics professor and fusion expert at BYU who’d decided that he could breathe new life into a stale old WTC “thermite” controlled demolition limited-hangout that had been kicked around the internet for years without ever gaining much popularity.
There were at least two problems with his approach: the highly-unconventional “”Ground Zero”" evidence clearly pointed to some kind of exotic weaponry or energy release, and, same as Hoffman, he continually sided with the government and media regarding what hit the towers, even as he insisted — proved — that “planes” could not account for what had happened to the towers.
The name of that physicist is Steven E. Jones.
So then we had two very intelligent men, Hoffman and Jones, both well-promoted by the “truth movement”, both behaving inconsistently (ie, selectively and/or intellectually dishonestly) regarding their opposition to the government’s and media’s lies of 9/11.
Further, Doctor Professor Jones has insisted that we can rule out all possibility of any kind of nuclear devices having been involved in the annihilation of the WTC skyscrapers due to the fact that no large radioactive signature had been detected at “”Ground Zero”". (3)
But the logic behind that is based upon the 50 year old truth that a (radioactively dirty) fission reaction is needed to trigger a (relatively clean) fusion reaction. However there is little reason to believe that nuclear technology had not, as of 2001, advanced beyond that of the 1950s. Nevertheless, that seems to be the basis for Jones’ having told people that they can rule out all nuclear possibilities.
It is our opinion that this constitutes a pattern, a history, of deceit; of having falsely ruled out the possibility of fusion without fission, and Dr. Jones has been dishonest. ”

It tells you a lot that Dr Steven Jones lost his job at Brigham Young University for speaking out about the evidence of 9/11 that showed the official story was a fraud. He is a brave man of integrity.

Danny Jowenko (the controlled demolition expert)explains how WTC7 was collapsed through controlled demolition, but he is at odds how to explain the collapse of WTC1&2.

We know that there were pools of molten metal in the basement afterwards, that molten metal was streaming out of the side of the building shortly before the collapse of one of the towers, that the dust found in the area afterwards contained iron-rich spheres, amongst other things and many people reported hearing bombs going off. Bombs, explosions, secondary explosions, explosive devices…
On a related note, Scott Forbes reported that on the weekend beforehand a team of men in overalls came in in the tower he worked in and that the power was turned off.

3. Dr. Farrer is featured in an article on page 11 of the BYU Frontiers magazine, Spring 2005: “Dr. Jeffrey Farrer, lab director for TEM” (TEM stands for Transmission Electron Microscopy). The article notes: “The electron microscopes in the TEM lab combine to give BYU capabilities that are virtually unique… rivaling anything built worldwide.” The article is entitled: “Rare and Powerful Microscopes Unlock Nano Secrets,” which is certainly true as regards the discoveries of the present paper.
4. Kudos to BYU for permitting Drs. Farrer and Jones and physics student Daniel Farnsworth to do the research described in the paper and for conducting internal reviews of the paper. Dr. Farrer was formerly first author on this paper. But after internal review of the paper, BYU administrators evidently disallowed him from being first author on ANY paper related to 9/11 research (this appears to be their perogative, but perhaps they will explain). Nevertheless, the paper was approved for publication with Dr. Farrer’s name and affiliation listed and we congratulate BYU for this. We stand by Dr. Farrer and congratulate his careful scientific research represented in this paper.
5. Perhaps now there will finally be a review of the SCIENCE explored by Profs. Harrit and Jones and by Drs. Farrer and Legge and their colleagues, as repeatedly requested by these scientists. We challenge ANY university or established laboratory group to perform such a review. Can you provide a source to the pools of molten metal in the basement.
How do we know that molten metal was streaming outside of the building just prior to collapse, all we have is Steven Jones descibing some orange blobs as thermite. It’s a limited hang out trap, because molten metal is the theory used to describe how the intense heat from the jet fuel collapsed the towers.
Thermite could well have been used durin the clear up process at ground zero.
How could the thermite have been applied to initiate the collapse ?
The explosions could well have been the setting off of mini nukes.
Were there similar explosions going off in WTC7 prior to it’s collapse?
Even for DEWs I would think that some form of pre wiring would have been needed.
After the 1993 WTC bombing in 1995 a $200m control centre was set up within the WTC, any wiring required for demolition purposes could have been carried out then.
But all I am saying is that WTC1&2 collapsed differently to WTC7,when WTC7 collapsed nobody was killed, so Silverstein could say all right I gave the order for it’s collapse (it was already wired),for safety reasons or what ever.

Regarding the pools of molten metal that would be expected if explosives were used to slice the steel columns, several witnesses, including the two main figures involved in the clean up, Peter Tully, president of Tully Construction, and Mark Loizeaux, president of Controlled Demolition, Incorporated reported seeing them.
States Professor David Ray Griffin: “Tully said that he saw pools of “literally molten steel” at the site. Loizeaux said that several weeks after 9/11, when the rubble was being removed, “hot spots of molten steel” were found “at the bottoms of the elevator shafts of the main towers, down seven [basement] levels” (both statements quoted in Bollyn, 2004) [1]
[1] Bollyn says (e-mail letter of October 27, 2005) that these statements were made to him personally during telephone interviews with Tully and Loizeaux, probably in the summer of 2002. Or someone who throws his toys out of the cot, because he refuses to abide with conclusions reached by his fellow scholarly researchers, such as the heavily manipulated/ faked video of Boeings disappearing inside buildings, bringing into question if there were even planes on 9/11.

Why are people debating this? It has been proven already. Numerous witnesses reported seeing steel flowing like lava, and dripping off the girders as they were pulled out of the rubble. Then we have nano-thermite found in dust samples which were taken just after the buildings were blown to dust. It doesn’t get much more obvious than this people.

Clare, I have not portrayed myself as some kind of expert.
If you scroll down the link in my last post, you will see the same alleged molten metal pouring down 2 different positions, 1 is third column from left the other is fourth from left.
So in your expert opinion which is the manipulated photograph.
The pools of molten metal in my opinion is disinfo.
Along with Steven Jones’ dust samples, at least until there is some verification on who provided them, and even then how do we know they haven’t been doctored.
The only evidence we truly have is the footage of the 2nd WTC hit, which is obviously manipulayed/ fake, so how can you possibly take seriously someone who gate keeps on this issue. Video fakery is the central core behind the 9/11 fraud.
I’m sure all those scientists you list are ‘peer reviewed’ as you put it, so to are the ones who assembled the NIST report.
Gate keepers such as the Joneslings have been put in place so as to create a barrier to people, wanting to go beyond CD of the WTC complex.

In addition, here are some more reports from people who were there from an article by Professor David Ray Griffin entitled: ‘The Destruction of the World Trade Center: Why the Official Account Cannot Be True.’ [1].
“Also, Leslie Robertson, the chief structural engineer for the Twin Towers, said: “As of 21 days after the attack, the fires were still burning and molten steel was still running” (Williams, 2001). Knight-Ridder journalist Jennifer Lin, discussing Joe “Toolie” O’Toole, a Bronx firefighter who worked for many months on the rescue and clean-up efforts, wrote: “Underground fires raged for months. O’Toole remembers in February seeing a crane lift a steel beam vertically from deep within the catacombs of Ground Zero. ‘It was dripping from the molten steel,” he said’” (Lin, 2002). Greg Fuchek, vice president of sales for LinksPoint, Inc., which supplied some of the computer equipment used to identify human remains at the site, described the working conditions as “hellish,” partly because for six months, the ground temperature varied between 600 degrees Fahrenheit and 1,500 degrees or higher. Fuchek added that “sometimes when a worker would pull a steel beam from the wreckage, the end of the beam would be dripping molten steel” (Walsh, 2002). And still more witnesses spoke of molten steel.
This testimony is of great significance, since it would be hard to imagine what, other than high explosives, could have caused some of the steel to melt.

I am guessing that people will not care if you think the photo is “manipulated” “winston.” You do not use your real name, while the photograph is from a team of scientists, all of whom use their real names and some of whom have sacrificed a great deal personally to bring the truth to the public, as Steven Jones has.

You seem to have missed the entire point of the Harrit et al paper and the TV interview posted on this site recently about this matter, “911 student.”
As Professor Niels Harrit, the first author of the abovementioned paper stated during the interview, they are not claiming that nano-thermite was the only product used that day.
It seems to me that yours is a sorry attempt to discredit the work of a team of nine scientists, by trying to discredit Dr Steven Jones, who incidentally is a man of great integrity.
The problem with the thermite theory is when it’s used to explain the pools of molten metal.
Thermite could have well been used in the initial (cutter charges) explosions, to create the plane shaped holes.
But it would have taken a far more advanced technology to form the top to bottom mushroom cloud 10 second collapse, of the towers, turning steel into dust.
Where are all the photos of chattels such as filing cabinets etc, that were in the towers.
