On the evening of March 19, 2009, Lawrence Korb spoke at the University of Pittsburgh (video at the end of this article). Korb was the Vice President of the Council of Foreign Relations (CFR) from 1998-2002. He was also the CFR’s director of National Security Studies during that same period. From 1985-1986 he was Vice President of Corporate Operations at Raytheon. He was Assistant Secretary of Defense from 1981-1985 during the Reagan Administration. He was an advisor to Barack Obama when Obama was campaigning for president.  He currently is a Senior Fellow at American Progress and a Senior Advisor to the Center for Defense Information.
