Ad revenue comes first
– using the deeply flawed ‘ratings’ system
– the flaws of which are passed on to ad agencies – which are then in turn passed on to the ad agency’s clients.
All other broadcasting priorities ( like ‘Fourth Estate’ type stuff ) are secondary. ]
The mainstream news outlets are hurting and the numbers don’t lie.
