'Worst In History Of Cover-Ups, Total Fiasco': Trump On Khashoggi Killing

Washington: US President Donald Trump charged Tuesday that a Saudi operation to kill journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Riyadh’s consulate in Istanbul had given rise to “one of the worst cover-ups” in history.
“They had a very bad original concept. It was carried out poorly and the cover-up was one of the worst in the history of cover-ups,” Trump declared in the Oval Office.
“Bad deal, should have never been thought of. Somebody really messed up. And they had the worst cover-up ever,” he added.
“Because whoever thought of that idea, I think is in big trouble. And they should be in big trouble. Okay?”

OPINION, by Martin Harris:

After decades of a “protected” relationship with the US under the likes of the Bush dynasty, it seems like a turning point has been reached. Looking at the larger picture, Trump’s “Make America Great Again” policy and inward focus, reducing the US dependency on foreign trade, has allowed him greater freedom to speak out against, even act against, nations like Saudi Arabia whose oil based wealth and US political connections has previously shielded them from scrutiny and criticism.

“Oil production from U.S. federal lands and waters rose 7 percent last year to the highest in at least a decade, while natural gas output slipped, according to soon-to-be-published U.S. data – a partial win for the Trump administration as it tries to fire up energy production on public land. ” SOURCE

Trump Great Tax CutsEven though Trump has come under criticism from environmentalists (and that includes yours truly), his focus on boosting local oil and gas production has obvious pros that need to be weighed against the cons: More jobs, less dependency on Saudi oil, more freedom to act.

“Who blew up the World Trade Center? It wasn’t the Iraqis, it was Saudi — take a look at Saudi Arabia, open the documents,” President Donald Trump
