To much of the world outside the USA, the “Green New Deal” sounds awfully familiar, from mention of the UN’s favourite buzzword “Resiliency”, to utopian images of endless employment, zero pollution and an obsession with railway transportation. It is also rather broad and ill defined.

Those familiar with the 2030 Agenda will know that it comes with “sustainability”(ie living with less), mass surveillance on a ridiculous scale, and ultimately a Chinese-style Social Credit system. Not so utopian after all then.
It is for starters, a massive plan for the government to take over and micromanage much the economy. Take the central plank, its diktat of producing 100% of U.S. electricity “through clean, renewable, and zero-emission energy sources” by 2030. As Ron Bailey at Reason has noted, a 2015 plan from Stanford envisioning the goal called for the installation of 154,000 offshore wind turbines, 335,000 onshore wind turbines, 75 million residential photovoltaic (solar) systems, 2.75 million commercial solar systems, and 46,000 utility-scale solar facilities. AOC has been clear it will be government building all this, not the private sector.
And that might be the easy part. According to an accompanying fact sheet, the Green New Deal would also get rid of combustion engines, “build charging stations everywhere,” “upgrade or replace every building in U.S.,” do the same with all “infrastructure,” and crisscross the nation with “high-speed rail.”
Buried in the details, the Green New Deal also promises government control of the most fundamental aspects of private life. The fact sheet explains why the resolution doesn’t call for “banning fossil fuels” or for “zero” emissions across the entire economy—at least at first. It’s because “we aren’t sure that we’ll be able to fully get rid of farting cows and airplanes that fast” (emphasis mine).

And as usual with the 2030 Agenda, the IPCC and Climate Change are right in the thick of it. You want to get people on board with something they’d otherwise reject? link it to global warming and they’ll leap on board.
At least, so goes the theory:
“We set a goal to get to net-zero, rather than zero emissions, in 10 years because we aren’t sure that we’ll be able to fully get rid of farting cows and airplanes that fast.”..IPCC Report said global emissions must be cut by by 40-60% by 2030. US is 20% of total emissions. We must get to 0 by 2030 and lead the world in a global Green New Deal. …“This is a massive transformation of our society with clear goals and a timeline” at a “scale not seen since World War 2.”

Unfortunately for Ocasio-Cortez, her 2030-on-steroids “global Green New Deal” sets such fantastically unrealistic goals it has rapidly become a joke.

Sometimes, something is just so over-the-top stupid, that you have to disappear it. That’s what has happened to Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, with her “New Green Deal”, which made “greenhouse gas reductions” down to ZERO the centerpiece of her policy. It was so ridiculous, so embarrassingly bad, that it had to be disappeared:

While much of the world seems ready to follow the 2030 Pied Piper, it seems the US will be a tougher “sell”. Mind you, Ocasio-Cortez isn’t doing the UN’s agenda any favors with her over-the-top fantasies.
