I, Pet Goat 2: Did it Predict Recent Events?

Released 7 years ago, this short animated movie by Heliophant has been discussed, dissected and decoded many times now. In light of recent events, I felt it is time to take another look at some scenes and speculate upon their meaning.

I, Pet Goat II

I do not intend to attempt a full analysis of this movie, just certain scenes and aspects. Let’s start with the “serpent and egg”. The most obvious connection is to Greek mythology, but the idea of the egg representing death and rebirth has of course, been appropriated by Christianity. Easter?

The weeks leading up to Easter have certainly been packed with significant events. The mosque in IPG2 has always been interpreted, logically enough, as Dome Of The Rock. I will return to this interpretation as I feel this still applies. But other mosque have been in the news lately: Al Noor mosque and Linwood mosque, sites of the horrific shootings in Christchurch. No, Al Noor Mosque didn’t explode, but 50 died and 50 injured were the figures quoted in the aftermath. Take a look at the still images: 5 trails shoot upwards from the ruptured dome, and 5 standing pillars at the entrance.

Returning to the Dome Of The Rock interpretation. A possible clue lies in the Stealth planes that fly overhead. Much speculation has surrounded the strangely random pattern of red-purple running lights on the wings, and that only one of the planes has a white light between it’s engines.

Bearing in mind this feature is 7 years old, it could well be a reference to the controversial “Dome Of The Rock UFO” event, (2011) filmed from different angles by several witnesses. A whirling light hovers over The Dome, then appears to shoot upwards in the blink of an eye. When the witness pans upwards, a pattern of red-purple blinking lights can be seen, apparently attached to some unseen vehicle or vehicles. So then, Does the “Whirling Dervish” who emerges from the Dome in IPG2 represent the whirling UFO?

There is another possibility that occurs: Does the Dervish represent this as a Turkish mosque?

There is a further clue in the next scene we will scrutinize. A veiled woman weeps over the body of a child. Is this NZ Prime Minister Ardern?

Finally, we come to the scene everyone is talking about: The “Christ” figure approaches a cathedral. His eyes open to reveal a reflection of flames. He loses his crown of thorns. Meanwhile the cathedral crumbles. Everyone has picked upon the possible Notre Dame reference. There is another possibility which harks back to the context of when this feature was made. Is this the Anglican Cathedral of Christchurch collapsing in the 2011 earthquake?

I suggest both interpretations are relevant: The flames in the “Christ”s eyes reflect future events (Cathedral burning) as he leaves the scene of a cathedral collapsing. One destroyed by flames, the other by earthquake.

All that remains unfulfilled is the destruction of the Giza pyramids! Time will tell.
