Having monitored world seismic activity obsessively ever since the Christchurch quakes in 2011, one thing that has been glaringly obvious has been the dearth of activity along America’s West Coast -California. The drought seems to be over.
While pretty much the entire Pacific “Ring of Fire” showed frantic activity during the 2010-2012 “spike”, North America was the exception, and has continued to be so. This author has even speculated as to whether the US is protected by some classified “quake mitigation” technology! Other times I have wondered how long the US could remain seismically quiet, and if the eventual wake-up would be like the infamous 2012 movie.
Well, over the past few days, although we haven’t quite witnessed a Hollywood-style Armageddon in Hollywood, there is still a deluge of shaking and rattling continuing.
Check on the Iris Seismic link, click on the area you want to view, and you’ll get a list of all the recent quakes and their details. You can also track the quakes here.

Be alert, be prepared, and as difficult as it may be when faced with disaster, cool heads and calm, logical thinking will get you through.
