Iran: Trump Seeks “Un-American” Peaceful Response

When he sought the presidency, we were warned he’d lead us all into nuclear annihilation. Now he’s being hammered for being a peacemaker. Apparently restraint and peace is “un-American”.

Even as our Left-Wing mainstream media here in New Zealand try to put a negative spin on recent events in the Middle East, the world breathes a sigh of relief. Even the notoriously volatile and twitchy oil market seems remarkably steady. Yet, as I say, the MSM tut-tuts and wrings it’s collective hands over the death of Soleimani, a military figure with a rather questionable history. Anyone would think the guy was a saint. Trump’s British counterpart, Boris Johnson, certainly mourns little for Solemaini’s passing:

Boris Johnson has said General Qasem Soleimani, killed by a US drone strike last week, had “the blood of British troops on his hands”.

He told the Commons the Iranian general was also responsible for a string of attacks on innocent civilians but called for “urgent de-escalation”.

Meanwhile, the stabilizing influence in New Zealand, Coalition Leader Winston Peters, continues the push for peace and restraint:

“Now is the time for restraint and de-escalation, and for diplomacy to take over,”

Winston Peters, New Zealand Coalition leader and Deputy PM

Meanwhile our PM Ardern seems to be doing a spot of fence-sitting.

Who would have thought, in the face of rhetoric and a barrage of missile “tests” that a US president would step away from carnage and war and actually meet with his bitter opponent on his own soil, as was the case with North Korea and Kim Jong Un. Or that US troops would back out of Syria. Or the current situation: One Republican wit, Mike Lee, describing Trump’s “all is well” approach to the Iranian missile response to the assasination as “un-American”.

Perhaps the aforementioned Republican representative would prefer to put a Democrat in power? How would Hillary have dealt with North Korea, or Syria, or Iran? I have little doubt something closely akin to Armageddon would now be at hand if anyone other than Trump were ensconced in the Oval Office. Even another Republican president would have taken a “shock and awe” approach. The name Bush ring a bell? And how about Obama? I’ll let Trump answer that:

“The missiles fired last night at us and our allies were paid for with the funds made available by the last administration,”

US President Donald Trump

Trump’s peaceful approach, as defined by his impressive UN address, may be “Un-American” by the standards set under the old elite families rule, but one certainly hopes that reign of terror is coming to a close. Trump heralds the dawn of a new America that profits from mutually beneficial trade with other nations, not from bombing the crap out of them. Long may the peace continue!

As for the mainstream media, is it that they’ve become so entrenched in criticising Trump that they are unable to give the guy a bit of occasional credit, or is it (as I suspect) simply that they are under control of an agenda that promotes Globalist interests at all costs; an agenda that is threatened by Trump and his adherents?
