ARE WE A LITTLE BIT INTOLERANT?

Todd Muller, the new National party leader got a verbal bashing in New Zealand for owning a Trump hat.  It’s politically incorrect.  So what?  It’s better than those pink pussy hats worn by women protesting Trump’s inauguration.

We should worry more about the things politicians do rather than the things they say, as I mentioned after reviewing Jacinda Adern’s deeds.

It’s sad to see this kind of intolerance in New Zealand.  I agree with Ryan Bridge from the AM Show – people should not be persecuted for their beliefs.  One day it might be your views that aren’t popular – what’s important is your right to hold them.

‘It’s out of control:’ Todd Muller shouldn’t be persecuted for owning a Trump hat

I hope we don’t go the way of America where people are physically or verbally attacked for their political views.

Here are just three accounts of Americans abused for their beliefs.  As you can see – none of them are “white supremacists.”

Jahangir Turan was attacked for wearing the MAGA cap in Manhattan.

This 74 year old Jewish man was verbally attacked for his MAGA cap while having a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

After this woman verbally attacked the elderly man in Starbucks, calling him a racist and a Nazi, Victor amused his fellow Starbucks customers by picking up his MAGA hat and revealing that he was wearing a Yarmulke and that he is Jewish!

“Parker felt strongly that she wanted to use her privilege as a white woman to stand up for those who are living in fear because of the hateful atmosphere fostered by Trump.”  Look at her and ask yourself, who is creating the hateful atmosphere?

And for anyone who has ever been out to a restaurant, I would think that a story like this would be almost unbelievable.  This happened at the Cheescake Factory in Miami.

“Every American should be disgusted by the behavior of these Cheesecake Factory workers, just as we would be disgusted if something similar had happened to Obama supporters at a Chick-fil-A.  But you know what… this wouldn’t happen at a Chick-fil-A because they train their workers better, and conservatives wouldn’t do this to Obama supporters because we’d understand that everyone has the right to their own political opinions.

This is yet another perfect example of the disastrous collapse of the modern American left, and the ugly face of liberal fascism.”

I couldn’t find any documented accounts of liberal pink hat wearers being attacked or vilified for their beliefs.  Here’s one where Trump Supporter debates Pussy Hat wearing Liberals.  The man wearing the MAGA hat is trying to reason with them.

Martin comments: I think we’re becoming more than just a ‘little” intolerant Jo! Unfortunately our political Left has been replaced by a “pseudo Left” that reacts on emotion rather than common sense and logic: No good having a heart without a brain, which is why we need a sensible balance of Left and Right wing. We need a Left that is both strong and tolerant, instead we get tears and tantrums: The “Snowflake” label is sadly appropriate. This intolerance and inability to engage with our opponents productively comes through influences upon our education system, especially higher education, and subsequently into the institutions of media and government. When one follows the trail back to here these influences originate, one is inevitably accused of racism. The response is simple: Exposing clandestine political influence on our society from, let’s say for example, The CCP, isn’t racist. It isn’t racist to oppose or criticize a political party or a political ideology. If we take to bawling every time someone does or says something we don’t like then we are becoming a nation of pliable softies fit for Communist rule. Is that what we really want?

Love Todd Muller or hate him, we need guys like him to bring some balance back into NZ politics. A “team of 5 million” all rowing in the same direction sounds a little too Communist for my liking!

The Big Agenda: Respecting Racial Diversity or Erasing It?
