The only reason I ask is because whenever I turn on the TV or radio or read a paper or MSM news site, you’d think there’s only one Epidemologist. You know the one. Michael Baker, the face mask guy.
Back when our government, via Ashley Bloomfield, was saying that “going with the evidence” the use of masks by the general public was inadvisable for combatting the spread of SARS CoV-2, Baker was given a great deal of media exposure making claims to the contrary. Yet when one of us goes against the governmental advice we’re likely to get called “conspiracy theorists (or if you live in Aussie, you could be arrested!). But no, eventually Bloomfield did a U-turn on the mask advice despite there being no evidential change.
Now, Michael Baker, the sole public voice of Epidemological expertise in NZ, has achieved almost god-like status regardless of which NZ MSM source one chooses. That’s a worry.

No disrespect to Baker, who regardless of whether or not you agree with him obviously works hard at his job, but this isn’t how a healthy society functions. What one would usually expect is the media consulting a variety of experts in the field with some points of agreement along with contrasting views and opinions, usually backed up with extensive research and robust data.
One would expect a panel of experts to debate the subject at hand to inform and enlighten the public. What we have in the case of COVID 19 is a virtual consultation dictatorship. A monopololy.
So come on, NZ Epidemologists. Where are you? Are you media-shy? Do you all simply agree unreservedly with Michael Baker?

Yep, it’s been blocked: Not by us!
Unusual as the source would benefit by the extra traffic generated by the link, so I doubt it’s RNZ.
I will look into this further though. I’m intrigued….
