APSS 1 or QuakeTEC, also named Te Waka Āmiorangi o Aotearoa, is an 1U CubeSat developed by the University of Auckland’s APSS (Auckland Programme for Space Systems) to test, if ionospheric disturbances can be used to predict earth quakes. The QuakeTEC satellite carries a Langmuir probe (A Langmuir probe is a device used to determine the electron temperature, electron density, and electric potential of a plasma) and will measure the electron density in the ionosphere to determine the feasibility of detecting earthquakes in advance. The students will be using their satellites to investigate a debated theory, that seismic activity in the earth’s crust creates signatures in the ionosphere, a region of the atmosphere between 60 to a thousand kilometers above the earth’s surface. The satellite was launched 02:20pm November 20th 2020 (delayed from late 2018) by an Electron KS rocket. It was carried by Lockheed Martin rocket Lab launched from Mahia Peninsular New Zealand along with 29 other payloads including US Department of Defence contracts.

Air New Zealand flight from Auckland to New Plymouth (Raglan) Corridore takes twice as long due to air traffic controlled outage. Aircraft changing their direction is quite common especially when there is severe weather in the area. And, while New Plymouth is prone to some hefty storm activity, that wasn’t the case at the weekend. The reason, it turns out, is allegedly because air space south of Auckland down to New Plymouth, known as the Raglan sector, was unattended on two occasions, from 2.15 to 2.45pm and then again between 4.30pm & 9.30pm Nov 16

2Mass whale death in Europe: Experts are investigating the cetaceans’ cause of death after no apparent sign of having been hit by a ship or caught in a trawler’s net. In the last six weeks, at least six fin whales – the second largest species of whale after the blue ones – were found dead. All have been malnourished and shown evidence of haemorrhaging in the cardiac and respiratory systems. In an average year, between three and, at most, 10 whales are deposited dead on France’s beaches, scientists say. “We have what is almost an epidemic or, at any rate, an abnormal spike in deaths,” Willy Dabin, a researcher from the Pelagis Observatory working on the corpse, told Reuters news agency. “Northern European nations have this year been complaining of unexplained ‘outages’ of vital GPS systems. Now we know it was actually a secret experiment with the Chinese to modify the Earth’s atmosphere — to boost and jam vital signals. Abstract – This paper discusses research conducted by The Very Low Frequency (VLF) Group at Stanford University introducing them and a controversial project called the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP). This project utilizes the latest oceanographic and ocean engineering technologies for exciting applications to space physics and radio science research. Sponsors consist of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL), and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). The program’s facility is a high power transmitter located in Poker Flat Rocket launch site Fairbanks Alaska, capable of broadcasting powerful VLF radio waves into the Earth’s ionosphere. These waves propagate along the Earth’s magnetic field lines to the system’s geomagnetic conjugate point situated nominally 600 miles south of New Zealand in the Southern Pacific Ocean centrered between Maquari Island of Tasman west Coast, Awarura Bay at the bottom of the South Island & Christchurch Kaikoura Coastline. By studying the radio signals at this point, the VLF Group seeks to discover how energetic particles in the planet’s radiation belts interact with very low frequency electromagnetic waves. This ambitious challenge of operating an autonomous, stationary, floating observation platform is known as the HAARP One-Hop Experiment – South Pacific Buoy of which Canterbury University New Zealand is participant as linked to similar research at the Birdlings Flats facility.

Ionospheric Heater: “Powerful HF transmitter (2.8 to 10 MHz) that induces controlled temporary modification to the electron temperature at desired altitude”.

What does that mean?

Heater antenna arrays pump electricity from the ground into space. This artificial electrical alteration of our ionosphere creates many different effects. Scientists doing these experiments do so without any oversight. These experiments are highly controversial
