Being ‘informed’ in the ‘Information Age’ [sic] is a proactive experience involving rational and critical thought. Pavlovian cliches, couched in syllogistic logic and ideological baggage are nauseous to us ‘conspiracy theorists’. The determined stupidy of the sheep has reached pandemic proportions. Apart from intellectualised fools in their own vacuum; on what mythological basis are imprinted and tutored minds able to render any rational opinion?

I clipped the following stories from the wire services. They’re articles run out on 26th, 29th and 30th. Oct. 2014.

Cutting through The US induced spin imperatives; the overall indicates that America (NASA) failed in an attempt to launch a rocket last tuesday to supply the crew of The International Space Station. Fortunately on the following morning The Russian Space Agency immediately launched and docked a vehicle with The ISS alleviating supply issues for the otherwise stranded crew. I hope this doesn’t bring on more American sanctions against Russia.

Well; off the record; Russian Lukoil has been pumping oil in The Middle East on behalf of Amercan interests even after the sanctions were instigated by the world ‘democratic’ leader. But I think that’s a secret (plausible denial). Lukoil pumps in Iraq; even though the latest US created ‘enemy of the day’ ISIS has set up shop.

America was attempting to use Russian rocket engines they had from the 1960s and 1970s. Because America does not have the capacity. (The Moon and Other Imaginings). This also reflects on the posturing of American Military abilities in missile technology.

Among the stories below; there is one indicating that The Indian Government prefers to buy missiles from Israel rather than America and Russia is re-establishing a missile presence (peaceful; not deterrent of course) on Cuba. It appears that America has returned to the days of the 1961 Missile Crisis; where the demand was that America remove its missiles fron Turkey and Russia will remove their’s from Cuba. Unfortunately at that time also; only half the story was revealed in American mass media.

The story concerning the cut in American military spending couched in terms of an ‘improvement’, defies some logic. It harks to the Obama drivel concerning Crimea returning to Russian control; without a shot fired; at which time the great leader of the free world advised that Russia had; “Acted from fear”. It would appear that Obama is more believable in a stand-up comedy role.

Australia of course has its own shame. A Prime Minister declaring he is a shirt-lifter, needing to be frightened away from stealing pension ‘entitlements’ and being a cringe American script-reader. Adults in the capacity of government leaders; albeit puppets; would be preferred to sporty-boys with single digit intelligence to match.

The overt scaling back of The American Military in the wake of its dramatic failures in all current alleged leading edge capacitiies (FA-35, FA-22, Virginia Class Submarines, Gerald Ford Class Carriers; exposure of the frauds of ‘stealth’ and The Missile Defence Shields during The Kosovo War and NATO-US Serbian Genocide; as well as the inabilities to develop Variable Vector Thrust Engines, Hyper-Velocity Missiles, Super-Cavitation Torpedoes and aircraft Masking technology; standard for Russia and now China) is very revealing.

Particularly when this is added to the facts of sixteen recent undetected Russian nuclear over-flghts of America, Russian naval patrols of The Caribbean, America warned under The Treaty of Montreaux not to fly ensigns in The Black Sea, NATO warned under the Bucharest Agreement not to move past The Oder-Neisse Line, The Mediterranean and The Strait of Hormuz controlled by Russia, being warned away from confrontations with Iran and Syria (proxy armies in Syria are apparently acceptable and Iran is apparently a covert American ally), China warning America to cease Charge-Downs in The China Sea, America chased out of The Russian Baltic Sea Zone, and adding Iraq and Afghanistan to the long list of American routings and vanquishings since the end of WWII.

We trust the petulance ends sooner rather than later; such that the world can return to a state of non-aligned, non-unilateral, relative peace. American poutings, fisty waves and feety stomps really should end. It’s not a good look. What were they thinking.

There is some interesting comment (or slips) amongst the American propaganda. One indicates that China is not an enemy and another indicates that Russia is an ally of America. So who are this week’s ‘enemies’; the American invented ‘terrorists’ and Islamic militants?

ISS Crew Has Enough Supplies Until March 2015
by Staff Writers
Washington DC (RIA Novosti) Oct 30, 2014

In case no spacecraft makes it to the ISS (International Space Station) in the near future, the supplies will be enough until March 2015, Mike Suffredini, NASA’s International Space Station Program Manager, said at the press briefing, dedicated to the Antares rocket explosion at the launchpad, which occurred in Virginia Tuesday. “We keep the logistics on board the ISS to protect us from 4 to 6 month in case a logistic vehicle cannot make it to the ISS. So the logistics when there is no other spacecraft showed up, take us well into the next year,” Suffredini said Tuesday night. NASA representative added that there are plenty of supplies on board of the space station. “The crew has all the food, water and other consumers necessary well into next year. I think if no other vehicle shows up we can go all way to about the March time frame,” he stated. The Antares rocket with the Cygnus spacecraft was supposed to be launched Tuesday from the Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia to deliver more than 2 tons of cargo to the ISS. The unmanned rocket, however, exploded six seconds after liftoff. Apart from provisions for the crew, the cargo onboard the Cygnus included science experiments equipment and some spares, but according to Suffredini, the situation is not expected to be dramatic, as “the station is in a great shape”. “We have lost quite a bit of research hardware; we will work with different providers to recover and get them opportunity to get to the space station. In addition to that, we have lost some spares that will have to, of course, be replaced and we will do it over time,” Suffredini said.

He concluded that a SpaceX vehicle flight to ISS is scheduled for December.

Supersonic Laser-Propelled Rockets
by Staff Writers
Washington DC (SPX) Oct 30, 2014

Scientists and science fiction writers alike have dreamt of aircrafts that are propelled by beams of light rather than conventional fuels. Now, a new method for improving the thrust generated by such laser-propulsion systems may bring them one step closer to practical use.

The method, developed by physicists Yuri Rezunkov of the Institute of Optoelectronic Instrument Engineering, Russia and Alexander Schmidt of the Ioffe Physical Technical Institute in Saint Petersburg, Russia is described in The Optical Society’s (OSA) journal Applied Optics.

Currently, the maximum speed of a spacecraft is limited by the amount of solid or liquid fuel that it can carry. Achieving higher speeds means that more fuel must be burned-fuel that, inconveniently, has to be carried by the craft and hefted into space.

These burdensome loads can be reduced, however, if a laser-one located at a remote location, and not actually on the spacecraft-were used to provide additional propulsive force.

A number of systems have been proposed that can produce such laser propulsion. One of the most promising involves a process called laser ablation, in which a pulsed laser beam strikes a surface, heats it up, and burns off material to create what is known as a plasma plume-a column of charged particles that flow off the surface.

The outflowing of that plasma plume-essentially, exhaust-generates additional thrust to propel the craft.

In their Applied Optics paper, Rezunkov and Schmidt describe a new system that integrates a laser-ablation propulsion system with the gas blasting nozzles of a spacecraft. Combining the two systems, the researchers found, can increase the speed of the gas flow out of the system to supersonic speeds while reducing the amount of burned fuel.

The researchers show that the effectiveness of current laser-propulsion techniques is limited by factors including the instability of supersonic gases as they flow through the gas nozzle, as well as the production of shock waves that “choke” the inlet of the nozzle, reducing thrust. But those effects can be reduced with the help of a laser-ablation plasma plume that is redirected so that it will flow close to the interior walls of the nozzle.

Coupling the ablation jet with supersonic gas flow through the nozzle, they find, significantly improves the overall thrust generated by the nozzle.

“Summarizing the data obtained, we can forecast the application of the supersonic laser propulsion techniques not only for launching small satellites to Earth orbits but also for additional acceleration of supersonic aircrafts to achieve Mach 10 and more,” Rezunkov said.

Antares Rocket Crash in Virginia Investigation to Take up to Year
by Staff Writers
Washington DC (RIA Novosti) Oct 30, 2014

The investigation into the reasons of the Cygnus spaceship explosion during the launch at the US Wallops Flight Facility can take about a year, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) spokesperson Jay Bolden told RIA Novosti. “Investigation will take up to 6 month to a year,” Bolden said Tuesday night. NASA spokesperson also noted that there is “good thing about international cooperation, we can count on our partners”. The Antares rocket with the Cygnus spacecraft was supposed to launch Tuesday from the Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia to deliver more than 2 tons of cargo to the International Space Station (ISS). The unmanned rocket, however, exploded six seconds after the liftoff. The cargo onboard the Cygnus included science experiments equipment and provisions for the crew.

“The impact on the crew is minimal, they have enough supply,” Bolden commented.

According to NASA’s earlier statement, no one has been injured as a result of catastrophe.

The reasons behind the explosion remain unknown.

Decades-old Soviet engines powered US rocket that exploded

Orbital rocket explodes after launchWashington (AFP) Oct 29, 2014 – An unmanned rocket owned by Orbital Sciences Corporation exploded Tuesday in a giant fireball and plummeted back to Earth just seconds after launch on what was to be a resupply mission to the International Space Station. “The Antares rocket suffered an accident shortly after lift-off,” NASA mission control in Houston said, describing the blast at Wallops Island, Virginia, as a “catastrophic anomaly.” Orbital’s unmanned Cygnus cargo ship was carrying 5,000 pounds (2,200 kilograms) of supplies for the six astronauts living at the research outpost. After the countdown, the base of the tall, white rocket ignited on cue, then rose a short distance into the air before it suddenly exploded in a fiery blast six seconds later. Enveloped in flames, the rocket collapsed to the ground, as a cloud of dark gray smoke rose from the wreckage. Officials said the cost of the rocket and supplies was over $200 million, not including the damage caused on the ground. Investigators swiftly secured the perimeter of the area and forbade any outside interviews of witnesses or staff, citing classified equipment that had been aboard the spacecraft. As night fell, fires were seen burning at the coastal launch pad, where waves lapped at the shore. It was unclear what caused the explosion, which occurred at 6:22 pm (2222 GMT). “Something went wrong, and we will find out what that is,” said Frank Culbertson, executive vice president at Orbital Sciences. He said investigators would evaluate the debris and analyze the rocket’s telemetry to uncover the exact sequence of events. All personnel in the area were accounted for, and there were no injuries, officials said. There was, however significant property damage at the launchpad. It was the first nighttime launch of an Antares rocket, according to Orbital’s pre-launch blog. Engineers said the countdown had gone smoothly, and there were no issues apparent with the machinery before the launch. “We don’t really have any early indication of what might have failed,” Culbertson said. – Space station well-stocked – The mission, known as CRS-3, was to be Orbital’s fourth trip to the ISS, including an initial demonstration flight. Bill Gerstenmaier, associate administrator of NASA’s Human Exploration and Operations Mission Directorate, said the space station was well-stocked and that no “absolutely critical” cargo was lost in the blast. Orbital has a $1.9 billion contract with NASA for a total of eight supply missions. After the US space shuttle program ended in 2011, leaving no government program to send humans to the space station, private companies raced to restore US access. SpaceX’s Dragon was the first commercial spacecraft to make a supply journey there in 2010. Its next trip is scheduled for early December. The Cygnus craft, which is shaped like a massive beer keg, made its first journey to the ISS in 2013. Unlike the Dragon, which returns to Earth intact, the Cygnus burns up on re-entry to Earth’s atmosphere. President Barack Obama was briefed on the launch failure and would continue to receive updates on the probe, the White House said.

The Orbital Sciences rocket that exploded after launch was powered by a pair of rocket engines that were made during the Soviet era and refurbished, experts said Wednesday. The Ukrainian-designed AJ-26 engines date back to the 1960s and 1970s, and Aerojet Rocketdyne of Sacramento, California has a stockpile that it refurbishes for Orbital Sciences. Orbital described the AJ-26 engine on its web site as “a commercial derivative of the engine that was first developed for the Russian moon rocket that would have taken cosmonauts to the moon.” In 2010, the company announced it would use the engines for its Taurus II rocket because “it achieves very high performance in a lightweight, compact package.” The Soviet Union poured $1.3 billion in investment over a 10-year period into developing the engines and building more than 200 of them in all, Orbital said. Space analyst Marco Caceres of the Teal Group told AFP that the AJ-26 is “a powerful engine” that was designed to launch people to the moon, but never did. “They did have problems with that engine back in the ’60s and ultimately they stopped manufacturing it,” he said.

In 1993, Aerojet began developing design modifications to make the engine suitable for commercial launches.

The staged-combustion, oxygen kerosene engines underwent testing at NASA’s Stennis facility in Mississippi.

In May, an AJ-26 engine blew up during a ground test there, but in the immediate aftermath of Tuesday’s accident, officials declined to link the two incidents.

Orbital Sciences has begun investigating the cause of the rocket failure at Wallops Island, Virginia but has not released any conclusions yet.

Orbital engineers said there was no alarming signs leading up to the sunset launch.

The accident was the first catastrophic failure since private companies began supplying the International Space Station in 2010.

– Order to detonate –

The rocket exploded about six seconds after it lifted off from the seaside launch pad Tuesday at 6:22 pm (2222 GMT).

A ground controller at Wallops Island issued a command to destroy the vehicle, Orbital representatives said in a press conference late Tuesday, but gave no details on why.

“It is kind of standard procedure, that if you get something in your readings that indicate it is going to fail, you would detonate it sooner rather than later,” explained Caceres.

“You don’t want that vehicle to fly very high if you know it is going to fail.”

John Logsdon, former director of the Space Policy Institute at George Washington University, agreed.

“There was something dramatic happening to lead the range safety officer to issue a destruct command,” Logsdon told AFP.

“They know that something was really wrong and they have all the data from the rocket so it should not take long to find out what went wrong.”

It was also the first attempt to launch the Antares 130, a more powerful kind of Antares than the 110 and 120 models that have flown in the past.

“I imagine they will be looking at a lot of issues,” said Caceres, including whether there was too much weight on the rocket, or if there was a fuel leak or a corrosion problem.

That one is a “keeper” for all ufo and clandestine military tech researchers! I find the RF-powered “lenticular craft” (ie flying saucer) particularly interesting.

And now my “imprinted and tutored mind” is going to render a rational opinion. The “mythological basis” I’m using to render this opinion is called freedom of speech, Mr. G-Squared!

Regarding America’s use of Russian rocket motors, these are leftovers from the Soviet space program, acquired from a private enterprenuer and sold to NASA at a bargain price.

The difference between US and Russian military and science development is in the PR.

Russia inflates their successes (and as former USSR rocket-chief Korolev revealed, there’s a fair bit of smoke-and-mirrors exaggeration) hides their failures (LOTS of “mystery explosions” in Russia over the years!).

The US, on the other hand, stamps everything “classified” until it chooses to unveil it’s latest toys. Failures, especially rocket launches, tend to happen under the watchful eye of the media. Sometimes the failures bring secrets into the open (America’s hypersonic missile tech being a prime case: The loss of one of these over the Pacific Ocean coinciding suspiciously with Russia and China announcing the development of similar technology after the US failed to find their mach-20 superdrone). The CCP doesn’t innovate, it steals and copies. In this situation, the publicity let Russia and China know “we know what you have and we had it first”.
