We just published our latest analysis on the surprising subpar performance of 5G in the US. Here are a few of our insights:
- In 30% of US cities, 5G is not considerably faster than 4G.
- Median download speeds only 2.7x faster, not even close to the promised 10-12x. Way behind other countries, US only 17th on our 5G Speed Index: https://www.speedcheck.org/5g-index/
- Reasons for the disappointing year 2020 for 5G: Regulatory decisions (not enough spectrum), Geopolitical tensions (Huawei a security risk), poor network configurations (5G still running on 4G infrastructure)
