Watching Obama’s departing words on that TV news this evening, I was struck by his use of the phrase “common purpose”:
“Only if our politics reflects the decency of our people. Only if all of us, regardless of our party affiliation or particular interest, help restore the sense of common purpose that we so badly need right now,” he said.
Not the first time he’s used it: https://www.weeklystandard.com/obama-talks-of-common-purpose-in-resp…

And, to the incognisent, it sounds innocent enough. Don’t be fooled. This is the Common Purpose Obama was referring to:

Keep an ear out for other luminaries (hint: British royalty.) using the term “Common Purpose”.
The thing that really stood out with Bush’s Common Cause was the way he said it in a nice almost cuddly sort of way to make people think he’s a caring humanitarian. Heaps of people vote that way, like Oh he’s got a nice smile.
Interesting comment from Cat’s Pyjamas at the CONtrail.com:
“I saw that too, couldn’t believe my ears…and you might find this amusing.
Freeman Fly was the one who cottoned on to the reverse speech of “Yes We Can” being “Thank You Satan”. He put together this nice little ditty. LOL.

Good spotting with the “common purpose” thing Martin. They never say any of these catch phrases without a plan.
Its all N.L.P. Neuro Linguistic Programming.”
Sounds similar to GHW Bush’s common cause in his New World Order speech
Indeed it does Rob. It’s interesting that George Senior often referred to the “common cause” along with references to “a thousand points of light”. He even created a foundation under that name. Turns out “a thousand points of light” is an occult luciferian phrase referring to “illuminated” persons.
