The hermit state has carried out two missile blasts within the space of a week, and despite China publicly condemning Pyongyang, Mr Trump’s patience appears to have worn thin.
In two separate tweets, Mr Trump said: “I am very disappointed in China. Our foolish past leaders have allowed them to make hundreds of billions of dollars a year in trade, yet…
“…they do NOTHING for us with North Korea, just talk. We will no longer allow this to continue. China could easily solve this problem!”
Mr Trump’s tweets come after North Korea’s ICBM launch on Friday, which is reportedly capable of hitting mainland US cities.
In retaliation to the provocative launch, the US and South Korea conducted a surface-to-surface missile blast into the Sea of Japan just hours later.
Mr Trump said: “The United States will take all necessary steps to ensure the security of the American homeland and protect our allies in the region.”
