Former United States president Donald Trump has ruled out reports he is starting a new political party – insisting the Republican Party will be strengthened and more united “than ever before”. Delivering his first major speech since leaving the White House, Mr Trump said suggestions he would be starting his own party was “fake news”. “We have the Republican Party, it’s going to united and be stronger than ever before,” he said. “I am not starting a new party, that was fake news. “Wouldn’t that be brilliant, let’s start a new party and divide our vote so that you can never win; no, we’re not interested in that.” The former president also condemned the Biden administration, saying President Joe Biden “has had the most disastrous first month of any president in modern history”. “Already the Biden administration has proven that they are anti-jobs, anti-family, anti-borders, anti-energy, anti-women and anti-science,” he said.
