The oppression of Christians across the globe continues.

According to eyewitnesses, The Chinese Communist party is imprisoning Christians in “brainwashing” centers forcing them to renounce their faith.
The eyewitnesses also say that they faced routine beatings and indoctrination.
Eyewitnesses told Radio Free Asia (RFA) in a report published Thursday that Chinese Communist Party officials imprisoned them in mobile “brainwashing” centers designed to make them renounce Christianity, where they faced routine beatings, indoctrination, and solitary confinement designed to induce self-harm.
Christianity is legal under the communist regime in China only under the Chinese Catholic Church, run by the Party and not the Vatican, and the Patriotic Three-Self Church, a “Protestant” alternative also run by the Communist Party. Many Chinese Christians reject both options, as the Party does not allow free worship in its legal institutions and requires clergy to use their platforms to advance the regime’s agenda. Instead, many choose what is referred to as “house churches” – illegal worship in private homes, where small groups get together to study the Bible and pray. Beijing officially estimates China is home to about 40 million Christians. Counting “house church” Christians, however, independent groups believe the number is closer to 100 million people, more than the total membership of the Communist Party.
Although the Mainstream Media will never report on it, Christianity is the most harassed religious group worldwide.
A pew study released in November 2020 found this:
In 2018, Christians reportedly were harassed in 145 countries, up from 143 countries in 2017. In Israel, for instance, an Ethiopian Christian monk was reportedly injured by police officers who were attempting to evict him from his church. And in Burundi, a Christian man died after he was imprisoned and allegedly beaten by police for refusing – on the basis of his religious conscience – to register to vote.
Martin comments: Seemed appropriate to have an article on Christian persecution at Easter. Take note though that the article relies on the all-too-frequent vagueries; “eye witnesses…sources”. Perhaps the lack of names and other verification is understandable under the circumstances, but detracts from the value of the information. Still, the general theme of Christian persecution is valid enough, as it happens right here in NZ in subtle and underhanded ways. The gradual and unconsulted substitution of Christian and Colonial place names (Christchurch becomes “Otautahi”; a name that never existed in any language or culture!) and COVID restrictions that favoured casinos, bars and even Swingers clubs, over Churches and weddings. The undermining of religious institutions, Christian, Muslim, Buddhist etc does not necessarily involve crude and brutal methods, but it certainly happens in some corners of the world.
