Despite Charles allegedly likening Putin “to Hitler” the Russian President has penned a compassionate letter of condolence.

Published two days ago on the day of Queen Elizabeth’s announced passing, the letter reads:
“Your Majesty, Please accept our deepest condolences on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II,”
“The most important events in the recent history of the United Kingdom are inextricably linked with the name of Her Majesty. For many decades, Elizabeth II rightfully enjoyed the love and respect of her subjects, as well as authority on the world stage.”
“I wish you courage and perseverance in the face of this heavy, irreparable loss. I ask you to convey the words of sincere sympathy and support to the members of the royal family and all the people of Great Britain.”
“Sincerely, Vladimir Putin.”
In contrast, Putin’s opponent in the Ukraine conflict posted a brief Tweet:
Sadly, there have allegedly been “jeers” from certain quarters in response to Putin’s thoughtful gesture.
Rather suspiciously, the story headline:
‘Stick it!’ Putin draws jeers for tribute to Queen in letter to King Charles, will skip funeral
Has been reposted through a myriad of new sites expressing stridently anti-Russian sentiments.
Despite this hostility, Putin has retained a dignified approach, subsequently wishing Charles “good health and all the best” on his ascension to the throne.

I say that we should give Putin some credit for reaching out to the monarch of a nation that essentially his opponent at the current time. Martin
