Science ought to be the pursuit of facts. These days it’s become the pursuit of funding. Big corporations profit from the resultant misdirection while getting away with health and environmental crimes.

Your government relies on you having a short memory.
A few years BC (Before Covid) Uncensored posted a barrage of articles and blogs demolishing the “97% consensus” myth with regards Climate Change science. It was an iron-clad, unassailable sinking of the claim. We were just one voice among many doing the same. The Mainstream Media ceased promoting the 97% claim shortly thereafter.
Now the climate hysteria is back on the menu, and the old claims are being dusted off for a re-run. Fortunately, some of us not only have long memories, but we also know our history.
If one looks back through history, science advances by disagreement and non-consensus.
It all boils down to the broader topic of freedom of speech and open debate and discussion; something vital to a thriving society. Something that is being rapidly eroded by forces keen to destroy our society in the name of power and control.
In many cases, scientific breakthroughs are accomplished by the lone researcher and thinker who ignores the paradigm.
I seem to recall one or two scientists being burned at the stake, literally, for having the courage to share their observations.
These days the stake-burning continues, albeit figuratively.
Science ought to be the pursuit of facts, but in ages past it was the pursuit of avoiding execution for Heresy. These days the pursuit of funding takes precedence. I guess even scientists have to eat to survive.
The repercussions of the money-based interface between science and large corporations were aptly illustrated by a reposted article from Pam Vernon’s archives at EWR
FORD SPENT $40 MILLION TO RESHAPE ASBESTOS SCIENCE
Science and opinion have become increasingly conflated, in large part because of corporate influence. As we explain in “Science for Sale,” an investigative series by the Center for Public Integrity and co-published with Vice.com, industry-backed research has exploded — often with the aim of obscuring the truth — as government-funded science dwindles. And this is one of the things that really gets under my skin about the current “Climate Change” hysteria. Its misdirection.
The focus is solely on CO2, which at about 400ppm currently isn’t an issue, in fact it’s pretty good. It means we’re just about free from the remnants of the Little Ice Age. Temperatures are almost where they were in the early Medieval Warm Period.
Context 1
… (2011) indicates that some 800 scientists from more than 460 institutions in 42 countries over 25 years have written peer-reviewed papers and provided evidences that the Middle Ages were warmer than today. Monckton (2011) blames how the IPCC attempts to wipe out the Medieval Warm Period in its 2001 report as shown in Figure 2. Davison (2015) adds that the IPCC is the primary proponent of dramatic global warming yet its argument is fundamentally flawed because of the way it selectively uses science and manipulates data to support its views. …

And yet we’re all participating in hindering that recovery, thanks largely to the IPCC’s misdirection and manipulation, as indicated above. When CO2 drops to a certain level, we do indeed get a “runaway effect” to catastrophe. Temperatures plummet, crops fail.
Ironically, the environmental movement has become a cheerleader for environmental suicide.
Meanwhile all these big corporations can sign climate accords, monitor their carbon footprints, and virtue-signal to their heart’s content. They can even profit from it all with carbon credits and whatnot.
And all that time, real environmental and health hazards get downplayed or buried.
Nuclear power being promoted as clean and safe, the horrors of cobalt and lithium mining and refining ignored by the EV proponents, the US military with their depleted uranium shells still poisoning Iraq to this today with dreadful birth defects.
So why, ultimately, hammer CO2 as the boogeyman?
If you can’t grow crops at home, if the local farmer can’t grow crops in his fields, you must rely on large corporations with large factory greenhouse filled with patented GE crops. Money, ladies and gentlemen. Power and control and greed.
