The MSM “fact checkers” call this story a hoax, but when the layers are peeled back, there’s something concerning about the technicalities that call for questions to be asked.
Martin Harris 21/8/23
We were first alerted to this story by alternative news source “The People’s Voice”.
I’m wary of the claims as presented by the source. It has been the target of several “fact checks” by MSM sources. As we all know, the so-called fact-checkers usually need fact-checking themselves! And Uncensored loves to fact-check the fact-checkers.
I’ve seen essentially the same story broadcast across other alt. media platforms without any apparent background checks. People’s Voice isn’t the original source in this case, there’s a long line of “parroters”.
I took time to read the ICJ principles (8 March 2023) from the link kindly provided by Uncensored Magazine editor Jon Eisen:
8-March-Principles-Report_final_print-version.pdf (icj2.wpenginepowered.com)
…and tracked the claim about decriminalization of pedophilia, to what appears to be the original source, from April 2023 before it spread across Social Media;
I also found a response to the claim from ICJ after the Live Action Network claim went viral:
“The commitment of the United Nations to fighting the sexual exploitation of children and the content of The 8 March Principles have subsequently been seriously misrepresented on a number of social media and websites…The 8 March Principles do not call for the decriminalization of sex with children, nor do they call for the abolition of a domestically prescribed minimum age of consent to sex. Indeed, the ICJ stresses that States have a clear obligation under international law to protect children from all forms of abuses.” Perma | Statement regarding The 8 March Principles | International Commission of Jurists
BUT…things get a bit murky.
The report DOES recommend removal of criminal charges aimed at “sex between consenting adolescents”. So how does one define “adolescent”?
How does the claim “nor do they call for the abolition of a domestically prescribed minimum age of consent to sex.” mesh with the following claim:
“This report does not call for sex between adults and minors or the decriminalization of sex with children…The report states that states should ensure that young people are not faced with criminal charges for engaging in consensual activity.”
So while it seems they are NOT promoting decriminilization of pedophilia, as the LIN and People’s Voice headlines suggest, the question remains; Are they advocating sex between minors/adolescents? Why are we faced with conflicting statements?
Like I said it gets murky!
Is it OK for a 19 year old to engage in sexual activity with a 10-year-old?
Do both these people classify as “adolescents”?
According to the WHO they do!
What is an adolescent age range?
ages 10 to 19
Adolescence is the phase of life between childhood and adulthood, from ages 10 to 19. It is a unique stage of human development and an important time for laying the foundations of good health. Adolescents experience rapid physical, cognitive and psychosocial growth.

How does a ten-year-old understand “consent”? Would you be happy for your 10-year-old to “consent” to sexual activity with a 19-year-old, and the 19-year-old NOT face criminal charges?
In short, the story as it stands from Peoples Voice and the original source Live Action Network is very misleading and served as an effective piece of disinformation (Even Blaze TV repeated it without question), but nevertheless there are some strong concerns around the wording, conflicting statements of defence and clarity of intent.
Having mulled this over with Jon Eisen, he commented;
“I read the March 8 doc and all the dog whistles are there, cleverly though not entirely concealed in the murk of the def of “adolescent”. After all, they do want their masters to know that they’re “working on it” and it is rather obvious when you think of it.”
