In his farewell address to the nation, President Dwight Eisenhower warned the public that they should beware of the unchecked power of the military-industrial complex. This speech is regarded as one of the greatest in American history and foreshadowed what dominates the content of the daily news in 2009.

He said: “In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist.”
President John F Kennedy warned the public of it also, and more recently, former Congresswoman and 9/11 truth activist, Cynthia McKinney has referred to what Eisenhower warned of in an interview she gave for the 2008 9/11-related documentary, The Elephant in the Room, however, she called it the military industrial financial media complex.
