NZ at the crossroads of GE – TOUR

When: Wednesday 8 August – Saturday 11 August
Who: Australian farmers Bob Mackley and Julie Newman, and Green Party MP Steffan Browning
Where: Locations below

New Zealand is at a crossroads. As an agricultural nation we are at the point of having to make a decision between growing genetically engineered (GE) food, for which there is enormous market resistance, or growing GE-free food, for which there is tremendous demand.

Two Australian farmers, Julie Newman and Bob Mackley, are touring the country with Green MP Steffan Browning. Bob and Julie are experiencing the negative effects of GE crops on farming, business, consumer choice and rural communities, and are warning NZ farmers about the dangers of GE crops. Bob talks from first-hand experience about his farm being contaminated with GE canola.

A very interesting talk that deserves to be heard by everyone!
