Never one to miss an opportunity to cause a stir, Trump breezed into the UN Climate Summit like a shark entering a pool of minnows. It was little Greta’s reaction though, that caught the media’s attention.

I guess when you have a hulk-sized security guard hovering over you, It feels safe to glare at the POTUS from a safe distance. Behind his back. I’m surprised she didn’t poke her tongue out or blow him a raspberry.
Trump of course was fresh from a 20 minute chat with the UN’s other poster-girl, NZ’s very own Jacinda Ardern, who was no doubt somewhat more mature in her dealing with the Leader of the Free World, despite their differences of views and ideologies.
Ardern had herself stood at the podium and spoken passionately about the case of a Pacific island slowly sinking beneath the waves, which of course is all our fault. I guess that means we’re all equally to blame for the Pacific islands she didn’t mention; the ones that are growing bigger?
I didn’t hear much mention of the fact that land rises and falls due to tectonic plate movement, as Ardern well knows from the recent examples in her own back yard, where land in Christchurch fell by a meter in a single day, and land in nearby Kaikoura rose by several meters in an equally short space of time. But no, apparently sea level rise due to human induced global warming is the culprit. Why? Because the UN agenda says so. So we can throw millions of dollars away trying to prevent an atoll from sinking.
Awfully selective, this sea level rise thing.
Back to young Ms. Thunberg, who, as she said herself in an earlier speech, should be at school, not lecturing to world leaders. Especially considering her total lack qualifications, nor of any shred of credibility.
I mean, how much credence should we place in someone who made an ocean voyage claimed to be “zero carbon”…in a yacht made of plastic and carbon fibre? Ahem. And then her sailing crew fly home in a carbon-spewing jet. I’d call this “epic voyage” an epic fail.
The “system” Greta’s handlers want to overthrow is western democracy and its pesky individual and economic freedom. The replacement they have in mind is centrally planned Socialism. Using children to put a happy face on it still leads to Venezuela for all of us — or worse.

Malizia II does to not have a diesel auxiliary engine, as other boats in its class do. It drags turbines through the water and uses solar to recharge batteries. This does not make it “Green.”
Malizia II, like the rest of the yachts in the Imoca 60 class, is constructed from high-tech carbon fiber composites to make it ultra light and fast. It is the ultimate play thing of the wealthy elite. These boats are made of hydrocarbons, not to mention all the energy it took to make them.
Carbon fiber composites are primarily made from propane and petroleum. This boat was pumped out of the ground.
It’s not really Greta’s fault. I remember being 16 years old myself. Naïve and somewhat gullible, but full of idealism and passion. I too thought I could do a better job than all those inept world leaders (and some of them are indeed inept and/or corrupt). Fortunately though, I wasn’t given a podium and actually stood up before the United Nations to display my naivety and lack of knowledge and wisdom to the world.
No, young master Harris was informed by his elders (who he was taught to respect) that things were far more complicated than they might appear. I was taught to look, listen, learn and, most importantly, question.
The result is that by the time I reached my twenties, it became apparent that things were indeed extraordinarily complicated. Wheels within wheels and plots within plots. It also became clear that I was horribly, shockingly WRONG about a great many things. A tough thing to swallow but an essential part of growing up. It wouldn’t be until this author reached his Forties before he felt even remotely competent or world-wise enough to place his political and environmental views, opinions and ideas before the world.
Sadly, I fear Ms. Thunberg is being taught that her naïve passions are immutable truth and wisdom, and that powerful individuals, who call the shots in geopolitical affairs and control the destinies and welfare of millions, should be content to sit at her feet and listen attentively.
Shame on those who have groomed and used this 16 year old autistic girl to promote their agendas, I say. She calls the world leaders “all evil”, but she isn’t discerning enough to recognize that she is herself being utilised and manipulated by the evil that lurks behind the Climate Change protest agenda. Poor wee thing. Check out this pic:
Trump’s reaction to Thunberg? Priceless sarcasm;
Does his behavior create controversy?
Well of course Trump’s behavior creates controversy! That’s both obvious and a part of role as a politician and a president.
