In the hypothetical Lock Step Scenario, Police State measures end in pushback from the oppressed population. Has a recent incident in Minneapolis provided the trigger to the real-life COVID Lock Step?

How many times do we see this scenario played out somewhere in the US? White cops apparently beating on a black guy (who was usually either going about his business or being arrested reasonably co-operatively) and when that guy dies, the result, predictably, is chaos.
I wonder though, if this incident in Minneapolis is more than just the actions of one idiot cop. On the face of it, and most obviously, this is about racial tensions and I repeat, we’ve seen the riot response before. Remember LA 1992 and Rodney King?

But the speed and fury with which the rioting spread beyond Minneapolis into other States was like a virus itself. Is there a connection between the rioting and COVID 19? I think so.
I think the Minneapolis incident was the trigger for the uncorking of a whole lot of bottled up resentment: A race-related act of police brutality heaped on top of police-state quarantine measures and a growing feeling among the general population, black and white alike, that they’re being hoodwinked about a certain coronavirus.
At the end of the day, regardless of what the rioting is about, it’s clear that it’s a case of “No more curfews, no more Social Distancing, no more yes-sir-no-sir”. The people are angry and they’ve had enough. These rioters don’t give a damn about COVID 19 any more. They’ve got a bigger cause to unite against.
The images of a single police officer casually holding George Floyd to the ground with knee on neck choking the life out of him, seems to symbolize the totalitarian knee on the neck of an America that prides itself on a perception of freedom.
In closing: Please be assured I have no desire to hi-jack the protest for one cause and tack it onto another. It’s simply my observation and opinion from afar that a link between COVID quarantine and a single brutal act appears legitimate.
