While they have finally dropped the “Anti Vaxxer” smear, the MSM still don’t get it! What is this protest about?
Opinion by Martin Harris
Yesterday morning I put together an article (link below) that was posted as the police moved in on the occupiers and protestors in Wellington. I suggested that the 3 arrests made at that time would be a foretaste of bigger things, and sure enough as I sat in the cafeteria at the gulag the TV propaganda show euphemistically called “the news” put the events unfolding at the top of the headlines. The attention continues as the arrests fail to stem the human tide and further police action seems inevitable at the time of writing.
Meanwhile on the radio broadcasts, initial reports spoke of pepper spray and protestors using children as “human shields”. It is very telling that this version of events quickly disappeared.
In fact, there has been a subtle shift in the reporting. I note with interest that yesterday the “Anti Vax” slur became “Anti vaccine mandate” and today the anti-vax reference has been dropped altogether. Now we are “Anti mandate protestors” Why? Have they finally realised this is broader in scope than opposition to vaccines?
Confusion and curiousity, I think, is behind the shift. There has been criticism by the same media sources that the protest, consisting of several groups and factions, seems to lack focus or a specific message. That there is no clear leadership. They are missing what’s staring them in the face.
Having attended a considerable number of anti mandate protests in Christchurch, it becomes very evident that it is the DIVERSITY of attendees that is the strength of these gatherings. People from all walks of life, who would not otherwise associate, coming together to express their frustration and anger at the manner in which they are treated by our government. This protest is bigger than a single organisation.
I recall Brian Tamaki’s words at the gathering that triggered his last arrest. “Normally I wouldn’t have anything to do with most of you, and you wouldn’t have anything much to do with me”. He’s absolutely spot on: Desperate circumstances cause us to put aside petty differences to come together with a single voice. What brought us together, then?
Mandated into taking a medication in order to retain their only source of income, or segregated and marginalised for refusing to do so. And these mandates coming from a Prime Minister who openly claims to be opposed to discrimination and promised never to mandate these vaccines nor penalise those who opt out.
Meanwhile our neighbours have become informants and families are divided.
We have been lied to. We have been subjected to Orwellian mandates that seem to apply to “we the people” but not to them, the so-called leaders.
Meanwhile, the rest of the world is opening up and getting on with normal life.
And the media can’t see what we are protesting about?
Clearly, the Mainstream Media couldn’t see a turd in a barrel of shit if they can’t see what the message is from these protestors.
We’ve had enough of these mandates and enough of this hypocritical government.
