Wellington Protest: Police Moving Occupiers On.

Mainstream Media reports on the Wellington situation have been mixed and confusing. But what does one expect? Is this protest over or just heating up?

As the protest stemming from the Freedom Convoy reaches it’s third day, we’ve had figures ranging from a “a few hundred disruptive protestors” to “a thousand mostly peaceful protestors”. Obviously I’m not there but judging by the numbers that have attended Christchurch protests there’s likely to be way more than a thousand involved.

Media reports make much of the 3, yes 3, persons arrested. a small number for such a large protest event which appears to have proceeded peacefully on the whole. That situation may be about to change however.

Reports I’m hearing this morning say that the police are asking occupiers to take down their tents and move on. No doubt we’ll hear soon enough where this leads.

Police have sent reinforcements to the forecourt outside Parliament and ordered anti-vaccine mandate protesters to remove their tents or be arrested.

On Wednesday, three people were arrested and charged after trying to breach the police line.

Meanwhile Ottawa is in a “state of emergency” as truckers pass the 10 day occupation mark.

Another concerning factor entering the news media repots is an alleged clash between Freedom Convoy activists and the Freedom And Rights Coalition group. Just how much of this is media spin in an attempt to stir up division is difficult to establish. Counterspin’s negative coverage of FARC and a tousle over filming doesn’t appear to have helped matters and the MSM are lapping up the infighting among the ranks. Let’s not add fuel to the fire guys, the average protestor is there to fight the government, not our fellow activists!

Freedoms And Rights FB page has this update:

The Daily Examiner: “At about 8.30am we got notified that the police arrived. They have formed a line and are slowly advancing to clear parliament grounds…They are pulling people out, cuffing them and taking them away.”
