I tend to wonder if the ESA and NASA images differ because NASA was busy filming red tinted vistas of Greenland and Antarctica?

This could be a plasma plume as a result of electromagnetic activity.
If you are unaware of Plamsa Cosmology – which is kept hidden because of course the revelation of an Electric Universe replaces the contorted and patched up ‘gravitic universe’.
So as with Io – not volcanos! And by far the mass of craters are the result of electric discharge events.

Yes I am aware of the Electric Universe theory,and have even done a couple of blogs here which feature plasma in relation to UFOs, clandestine technologies and Plasma based life forms.
Can’t say I’m 100% convinced by Electric Universe but I remain open minded about it. I think neither Electric nor Gravitic theories stand alone, but some combination of the two perhaps? Are you familiar with T.Townsend Brown and “Electrogravitics”?
