Making sense of the MSM reporting.
I’ve been watching the Mainstream Media reports today (24 May ’18) regarding the forthcoming (or not?) US/ North Korea summit.
A top ranking official (Choe Son Hui) making inflammatory remarks about Pence, nuclear threats…good grief. If one goes by the screaming MSM headlines it’s imminent Armageddon!
But hang on a minute. Wasn’t North Korea’s nuclear capability seriously curtailed, if not completely dismantled? That’s what we wee told only weeks ago. (I suspected that Kim Jong’s mountain may have been toppled by HAARP. Jim Lee seemed to concur with this theory also. I’ve always been of the opinion that NK is no real threat and never has been).
Just yesterday I watched a clip of Donald Trump suggesting that China may be interfering with the whole proceedings, referring to Xi Jinping as a “Great poker player”. China have always been master tacticians and considering the number of under-reported meetings between Xi and Kim Jong lately, Trump has a point. China holds NK’s leash.
Donald Trump Calls Xi a ‘World Class Poker Player,’ Suggesting He Changed North Korea’s Mind about Meeting
So if North Korea is really so toothless, are these nuclear threats just empty rhetoric? Take an objective look at what was really said, in full context.
Choe Son Hui, a vice-minister in the North Korean Foreign Ministry, said if the US continued on its current path, she would suggest to North Korea’s leadership that they reconsider the planned summit between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
“Whether the US will meet us at a meeting room or encounter us at nuclear-to-nuclear showdown is entirely dependent upon the decision and behavior of the United States,” Choe said in comments carried by North Korea’s state-run KCNA news agency Thursday.

“IF the US continued…”
“SUGGEST that they reconsider…”
“Is entirely dependant upon…”
So, then, nobody is really threatening anything at all. This is one minister making a noise about something that is based upon personal suggestion and sabre rattling. Nothing more than one official’s speculation. Chances are, North Korea’s KCNA ran the remarks to feed to the Western Mainstream Media. Perhaps at China’s suggestion, one might speculate?
Is the US likely to enter this meeting with an intent to initiate a nuclear exchange which would be decidedly one sided, only to face the wrath, not merely of China, but likely most of the world? Not likely.
Or perhaps there is more to this than meets the eye. Is Trump walking into a trap? The first step in avoiding a trap is knowing of it’s existence. Poker players and tacticians…..
